Why We Need Your Help

We are doing a lot to help ourselves at RVTH, for example:

• Training our managers, own medical students and our own nursing staff
• Improving the way the hospital is run, so that it operates more efficiently and can be managed more easily.

But we still need help. Our total turnover is approximately 1/150th of a similarly-sized hospital in Europe or the USA. As a result, we don't provide the whole range of services that people in those countries take for granted - e.g. we can't offer dialysis or even much cancer treatment. Patients are remarkably stoical and understanding, but it is still difficult to see people suffer and often die simply because we do not have the facilities or services to help them.

We also need bio-medical engineers to service and repair our equipment. Too often, equipment isn't useable or is jettisoned because we haven’t got the skilled staff to look after it.

Vehicles

We are desperately short of transport and this often means that patients, staff and supplies job can’t be transported quickly enough or even at all, with critical consequences. RVTH needs the following:-
